Stay up to date on the H Street market
A quick walk from Capitol Hill, this neighborhood was developed in the middle 1800’s to house workers building the nation’s capital. The name is derived from its main street, H Street, that is the life center of the area with its cultural and musical events, offering venues such as the Atlas Center of Performing Arts. Along this road one can observe many independent coffee shops and restaurants that give a unique vibe to the area. One of the first streetcar services in the United States was recently renovated and is now in use.
The neighborhood is very central and it’s where Union Station is located, giving the area easy access to the rest of the city and beyond via the Amtrak connection. H Street has been redeveloped in recent years and old townhouses are now being outnumbered by new lofts and condominiums. The market here is tilting towards the high-end given the new and modern listings.
